Media Group Not Aligning vertically

Any thoughts on why I’m not getting Media Group Vertical Align controls to work?
Text remains aligned to top of image regardless of the vertical align setting.

If you look at the screenshot below you will see that it is aligned to the top of your image. You image is highlighted in blue in this screenshot. Your image has a glow, and empty whitespace around it. So while it looks like it is not aligned to the top of your image, it is, it just isn’t aligned to the top of the white box in your image.

You could use the responsive Margins stack that comes with foundry to position the text down a bit at the different breakpoints to get it to align like you’re wanting. Something like this:

so what does Vertical Align refer to in the Media Group inspector?
I really want the image and the paragraph to be aligned centrally

The Vertical Align option found in the Media Group’s settings palette aligns the image with the content. You don’t really have enough content in the content area of the Media Group to see the Middle alignment. But if you add more, like so, you can see it in action:
