On blank parent pages for sub-pages in a dropdown, is it best to have “no index and follow links” tags, or should the tag still be set to “index and follow links”?
You should be able to disable both the indexing and the follow links features for those pages if you wish. I doubt that having them enabled though would cause you any real problems, IMO.
Thanks Adam. It seems like the logical thing would be to have the blank pages not be indexed, and have the links followed, but just wanted to know your expert advice for best practice.
Apparently Google didn’t like it when I used “no index and follow”, as they sent me a notice in the Search Console that there was a “coverage issue” on that page due to the no index tag. So it seems it is best to have index and follow for those pages.
