In terms of the stacks I have right now, I could probably do it with a combination of Joe Workman’s Jack Stack/Jack Hover stack and Hijax Stack (not sure whose this is - it used to be nimblehost) but wonder if there’s a Foundry solution

The closest I have seen to this effect is by Weavium stacks.

You can also put an accordion stack in the slice area of a card stack. Not quite as elegant as your example but pretty close with a bit of tinkering around
